UK WheelChair Moto Cross & Adaptive Skate Jam

Event Date:

21st of March 2020

18:00 - 22:00

Sports category:

Wheelchair activities, social and leisure activities

On the 21st March between 6pm & 10pm the 2020 UK WCMX and Adaptive Skate Jam takes place in the at Graystone Action Sports in Manchester hosted by Women's WCMX World Champion Lily Rice.

Wheel Chair Moto Cross or WCMX is an exciting new Para Action Sport that involves taking your wheelchair to a skate-park and practicing tricks on it.
This year we have included adaptive skateboarding to bring the UK into line with what other Countries are achieving.
The aim of the event is to increase participation and raise awareness of these disciplines, especially as skateboarding makes its debut in Olympic Games this summer. It is hoped by many adaptive skaters and WCMXers worldwide, that their sport will one day be included in future Paralympic Games.

The event is aimed primarily at first timers of any age and ability who are interested in taking up the sport.
Participants will be given a set time to run through the course. Its important to stress this isn't a competition so everyone is a winner and we actively encourage everyone to make as much noise as possible in support of the skaters.
There will be plenty staff on hand to assist all the riders/skaters who may require assistance on the skate-park.

This year we have a TV production company filming for a BBC 1 documentary to capture the action.
More details below.

We look forward to seeing you there!
