Overview
Water sessions are there to improve your rowing step by step. The individual can decide if he/she wants to compete in adaptive rowing races or is just happy to "go out for a paddle". So outings will be designed to match your wishes.
Your first couple of sessions will be on rowing machines to teach you the basic stroke.
We cater for all ages, issues, ability and level of ambition.
Rowing must be safe and practical for you - that is the only broad restriction
All sessions are "open" to all our adaptive rowers.
Safety is paramount and is assesed constantly. We will discuss your safety directly with you.
There is some emphasis on the social - squad lunches are a regular thing. Everybody is made welcome.
The first few sessions are free . You get to see if you like it. So nothing to lose by giving it a go!

When we meet:
The sessions are arranged with the individual and vary with the time of year. Current main sessions are Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday 11am-1pm plus other individual sessions throughout the week.
Equipment:
None. All rowing equipment is provided. Advice will be given on appropriate clothing etc.
Accessibility Information:
There is flat access to all external areas but the actual staging where participants get in the rowing boat is slightly lower. A combination of concrete and metal ramps will be completed in December 2020 to provide permanent safe wheelchair access to the staging
Dependent upon disability a variety of methods and tools are used to safely get our adaptive rowers in and out of boats. We do not use a hoist.
The grounds including parking area are mainly gravel - useable if not an ideal surface for wheelchairs.
There is flat access to a downstairs WC and shower room for the disabled.
Access to the upstairs and fitness room containing rowing machines etc is via stairs or a stairlift. Potential solutions to improve access here are under consideration.
