SDGC 25th Phoenix Cup - Day Two: Fourball

Event Date:

17th of September 2020

11:30 - 16:30

Sports category:

Scottish Disability Golf & Curling (SDGC) is governed and operated by disabled people and was the first organisation in the world, to incorporate anyone of any age, with a physical, sensory or intellectual disability, that interferes with the playing or learning about either sport.

We organize golf from April to October and curling from October through to March and, when there is an overlap of seasons, we operate “Sticks & Stones” events, where members can participate in both sports at multi-day events.

The Phoenix Cup is a disabled golf team event, based on the Ryder/Solheim Cup format, generated and organised by the SDGC. Other disabled golf groups from around the world are invited annually, to bring together teams to compete and continue to develop and promote golf for all golfers of any age, with any type of disability. The inaugural Phoenix Cup was generated between Canadian and Scottish disabled Golfers and involved squads from the 'Rest of the World' and 'North America'.

The Phoenix Cup: 713 golfers from 18 nations and played in 6 countries

Attending the club:

Team Europe has four slots still to finalise (full list found on our website). Three of those golfers with disabilities will come from the L2 EXCEL Order of Merit Championship Tables by July, with a fourth being a further Captain's wildcard selection, who will be an SDGC member who is felt to have contributed significantly to their golf group and disability golf generally.

For more details head to our website or get in touch.

When we meet:

For Day 2 of the Phoenix Cup, we will be meeting at 11:30am on Thursday September 17th.

You will need your own set of golf clubs, balls, gloves, hat, and to dress within the dress code standards of the club (smart, casual clothing and footwear, no blue denim). If you don't have all the required golfing gear that’s no problem, you can hire it from the golf-pro shop on site.

You can find more detailed information on our website when you click on this event. Alternatively, you can always get in touch via phone or email for further details.
