Kirkby Athletics Club provides the opportunity for disabled athletes to train & compete in Athletics. The club provides coaching in running, throwing & wheelchair racing by British Athletics qualified coaches who are insured and DBS checked.

We have worked with junior, senior and international paralympic athletes. The sessions are open to anyone who wants to take part in Athletics recreationally or compete in track, field and road races.

Attending the club:

To ensure we have suitable equipment available please contact myself to discuss when you are able to attend so our coaches can have equipment ready. The first few sessions are free or charge and membership is currently £100 per year.

When we meet:

Monday Evenings at 6pm (please let us know if you are attending so we can have equipment ready)


Yes - our club has several old racing wheelchairs, racing wheelchair gloves and throwing implements for new members to use. If you decide you like Athletics we can look at helping you apply for funding towards your own equipment.

All new members are able to try equipment.

Accessibility Information:

The facilities we use are fully accessible to anyone who has a physical impairment or is a wheelchair user. A disabled toilet and disabled parking is available at both sites we use for training.
