Try Scuba Diving for Free. We offer scuba diving (Aged 12 and above) or snorkeling (aged 6 and above) taster sessions. There is no upper age limit. Please discuss any requirements with us. We have two Diving for All instructors who will be very happy to talk through all requirements with you and develop solutions. There are some medical conditions that preclude you from diving. A medical declaration of fitness has to be signed, but please don't let this put you off inquiring. It's much more inclusive than it sounds. Our members are a mixed group, old (eldest is currently 72) and young (youngest is 12), many identifying as disabled, LGBTQ+, beginners right through to very experienced divers.

Attending the club:

We offer free try dive sessions on Thursday nights at 7.30pm at Trentham High School Community Pool Stoke on Trent. Please see our website for the contact form. www.potteriesdivers.co.uk. Alternatively you could phone the club phone. No one will answer but please leave a message. We will phone you back and invite you for a poolside chat, after which if you still fancy having a go, a free try dive session can be arranged with our Diving for All trained instructors if required. If you enjoy your try dive and want to learn to Dive then we invite you to become a member of Potteries Divers BSAC 12 scuba diving club. Costs and details of club membership are provided in the poolside chat or in the initial phone call. The try dive session is free. There is no obligation to join our club. We just want as many people as possible to experience scuba diving. We go to the Michelin sports and conference facility after Thursday night training for a social gathering in their bar.

Thursday evenings 7.30pm.


We provide all equipment for the try dive sessions. You need to wear bathing suit and an old T-shirt. We have equipment of various sizes and adjust-ability.

Accessibility Information:

Our pool training takes place at Trentham community pool which is part of Trentham academy. There is disabled parking spaces and wheelchair access. There is a disabled, wheelchair accessible pool changing room with a chair lift to pool level. There are four steps down to the pool if you don't use the disabled changing room access route. There is not however, a hoist facility in or out of the pool. Electric wheelchairs are not allowed poolside. We have a large pool of voluntary instructors who are DBS checked and trained to BSAC high standards. Two of our instructors are Diving for All trained and will be able to discuss needs and solutions prior to instruction.
