A Have a Go Day is a multi-sport taster day set out to introduce local people living with sight loss the chance to try a range of VI friendly sports and activities. The event being held in Exeter is open to children and young people aged 5-25, and will offer participants the chance to try out a range of sports including; football, tennis, athletics, golf, judo and active play. No previous experience in these sports are necessary, as these opportunities are a taster into the sports themselves. Off the back of the event, information will be given to attendees enabling them to continue to participate in the sports that were offered.

Alongside this, workshops will be on offer to professionals in the VI and sport sector to upskill staff and provide CPD for improving opportunties for children and young people with sight loss to experience provision in sport and physical activity. These workshops will include an introduction to our first steps project, and a VI awareness in school sport workshop with school PE delivery staff and QTVIs that would like to gain a greater awareness of how to adapt mainstream PE delivery to be inclusive for students with a VI.
