Through our new Sunday Smiles Scheme we are providing free access to our exciting, friendly gym facilities every Sunday to local families who have children with additional needs. In order to participate children must be a minimum of 14 years old and attend the facility with a family member or carer. An introduction to the facility would take place on your first visit so you feel confident in using the equipment, so you get the most out of your sessions .
Our Outdoor Football session welcomes participants with a range of disabilities to all come together and play football. Taking place at Longton Rugby Club, and led by Disability Lead Tom and Coaches Ed and Danny sessions are open to anyone aged 8-16.Make sure you bring a drink to stay hydrated and shin guards Each session costs £3.
Race Running is a fun new sport for people with physical disabilities. They use a tricycle-like frame to walk, run and race. It has huge physical benefits (including physiotherapy) and is great to socialise and be active.
East Liverpool horse riding for the disabled provides fun and therapy for riders of all ages who live with varied degrees of disability. Horse Riding strengthens the core muscles, improves balance, posture, co-ordination, confidence, health and well being and has significant results in enhancing daily care skills. A fun and entertaining session that is open to all ages and abilities. It is an inclusive session where everybody will mix together and the main focus is on having fun while also doing exercise. The social side is also a major part of the group.
Wheelchair basketball, the inclusive sport for everyone! Hi, I'm James Morris and I've run the Hull Hornets wheelchair basketball since it started 3 years ago, we participate in the university championships and got second place in our first year! We are an inclusive team, we happily accept anyone regardless of your disability (or lack thereof!), age and experience. Please just come and give it a go!
At DISC we welcome children and adults with a disability and their families. We meet every Sunday at Towcester Centre for Leisure; the first & third Sunday 3pm - 5pm and all other Sundays 4pm - 5pm for swimming only. The usual pattern is 3pm - 4pm sessions in the sports hall such as trampolining, Boccia and football followed by swimming 4pm - 5pm.
Every Sunday afternoon from 3pm - 4pm, Cambridge United Community Trust run a frame football session at Impington Village College. All abilities are welcome - no previous football experience needed! All sessions are run by an experienced frame football coach.
